I am going to have to write the president of BYC and tell them I don't do chickens LOL, and need some duck features or start my own BACK YARD WATERFOWL!!!

Someone here might know. I have a problem with one of my bantams. Lately he has started changing colour drastically. Before he was just perfect colour, now he has started going much lighter and has started getting lines across his eyes like the girls get. What could this be caused by?

shouldnt be this time of year, but sounds like he's going into an eclipse molt, deoending on what color he is, any of the mallard pattern one will molt their nice pretty colors and turn into a hen pretty much. This is called eclipse.
But that should have been molted out of back between Oct and Nov in most cases, they all should be in full breeding color now.
Do you keep them inside or under lights?
If so that explains it, their cycle is based off day light hours in a season. If they get artifical light, it can throw them out of whack

Its summer here in Australia, so it's quite hot. He is outside with lots of other ducks, with natural light only. His face is basically a hens face now.

Thank you very much for this answer!!
