I guess that pinioning is not an option for me. Thanks Brian for the info. Not sure if I could clip a wing either. I guess I am going to have to learn some stuff

I think some hatcheries will pinion your ducks for you before they ship them to you. Clipping the wing is pretty simple.

I think I can clip, that was a good diagram Brian. Are there any good raising duck books you would recommend? Storey's?

I dont have any books on duck raising myself, but I have a couple of the Storey's Books and they are great. So Id probaly get the Storeys Guide to Raising Ducks by Dave Holderread

I used to clip parakeet's feathers. No biggie if you can get them to hold still for a few seconds
