Bantam Easter Egger Vs Standard Easter Egger

I’m torn between Bantams and Standard chickens! Chicken math is getting to me lol but am trying to see if I should get Bantam Easters or the standard version. I want silkies, Old English Game Bantams and some Mille Fleur D’Uccles. I don’t eat eggs lol but some family members do. I just want pet chickens with some cool eggs maybe and pops of color In my garden. What preferences do you guys have and why? What’s the lifespan difference in does one live longer?

The main difference between bantams and standards doesn't even start with the chickens, it's getting them. The only hatchery that sells sexed bantams is MyPetChicken, and they are pricey and with a limited breed selection. Otherwise, you have to get straight run chicks, and figure out something to do with those extra cockerels. Bantams definitely lay smaller eggs, so they are a bit harder to cook with and are less filling to eat (purely from egg size, not egg quality) but bantams do take up much less space and some of the exclusively bantam breeds are just so cute!

If you're getting bantams, best to stick with bantams if you can get all the ones you like that size. Personally i clever really had a problem with bantam eggs when I ate them. Sure, smaller than store eggs, but depending on how many girls you have, it may not matter. Even with bantam eggs only, we were over run
