Hey lurky, glad you liked the pics on my site. Yes, my bantams are real ameraucana. The roosters are around 30 oz and the hens 26 oz, as required by the standard. We have really built this flock up over the last year and have a nice group. They are such little cutey pies. If you're interested in trying my eggs, I'll let you know when I confirm fertility. The girls are laying really well, so giving them some time for now.
You can rest assured that I will not mix up an EE with an Ameraucana. My EEs range from 6-8 lbs and are nice standard size. Araucana are smaller and are often confused for bantams. They range 3-5 lbs. Some people breed them bigger for meat quality, but I try to stay close to standard with mine.
Sara is right..that is my Lester a lavender orp in the avatar. He's another project I'll be starting on and he is HUGE. I am sure he will push 10 lbs easy at maturity the way he is growing out.
