Bantam Frizzle Polish

Hi Mike, I live here in Reno nv, I got chicks delivered from Tonya exactly 20 days ago, making tomorrow the big hatching day. This is my first chicken experience. I really hope that the majority of the eggs hatch. I am so flipping excited.

So, fingers and toes crossed I will have babies by Monday. I actually had to find a lady to incubate my eggs, so she should be calling me Sunday I am hoping to let me know. The reason I am writing you is because I would love to see pics of every bodies chickens.....Yeah whooooo.. Regina. Hopeful new chicken mama. lol.

Well Regina,

So are you planning on SLEEPING tonight ?? LOL !!
I remember all too well piggybacking on an order with a friend of ours. She got some mottled bantam cochins, we went over Jan. 4 to pick the 2 day old babies up - it was MINUS FIVE degrees, we took six of the nine that hatched from 15 eggs. We got 3 hens and three roosters. The lady that did the incubating ended up with three roosters, she wasn't the happiest about that. We still have one of the hens, she's now approaching 4 1/2.

So we'll keep our fingers crossed and will be awaiting your update and photos.
And YEAH we'll post photos !!

Cool.... I'm pumped for ya'll.

Hey mike, i personal messaged you too. i didn't know you had written me. sorry for that, and to keep you waiting. 8 little chicks out of 24. 3 buffs, 1 splash, 2 white crested, 2 all black or blue??? Can't tell. They are so cute, I really hope some become frizzled we shall see. Looks like maybe 1 is starting to. However, my mind may be playing tricks on me.. They change so quick, two days ago they were soft, yesturday they had little wing feathers starting, can't wait to see what today brings. Love them all.. Let me know what you hatch, maybe we could do a chicken swap. lol. I guess we live a little to far away for that. Regina

Day 19 here and we got our first pips !! It's horribly hot here, well over 100 degrees and we lost a black frizzle hen to the heat. Old Biskit was a real air head but we loved her anyway. So it's really heartening to buffer the pain of losing Biskit to see THIS, our first pips...

Our plan is to move the eggs that are pipping under the three broody hens we have so they DEFINITELY get babies. We had a black frizzle hen in a nest box in our big coop, Bagel, sitting on eggs so we put her in a pet carrier and she's now residing on my side of the bed. During the worst of the heat it's gotta be 20 degrees cooler in here.

Sleep is highly overrated.
We had our first fully hatch on Saturday (Day 19, I told the wife this would be a rooster, first awake)
During the night (going into Day 20) we got a 2nd hatch, a black to keep the golden one company. We heard peeps from Lucie and Goosie's carrier so we put the golden baby in with them and the black in Bagel's carrier (Bagel is a black frizzle). Not long after we got up (05:15 on SUNDAY !!) we had a number of eggs zipping. We distributed them under the hens. So now all three hens have babies AND eggs hatching. And it looks like we'll have even more, the fertility rate is the best I've ever been mailed.

Thank you Tonya, our moms are VERY happy campers today. It always is so touching so exciting to see these little gems hatch that the money spent seems like peanuts compared to the experience we get...

Blessings
