I know they are suppose to be around but I can't find any anywhere. Large fowl are hard enough to find but I'm finding bantams impossible! Has anyone ever seen any or know anyone who has them?

I have seen pics of them in a European poultry book and they were stunning! I don't think they are in the US, we are always the last major country to get cool chickens LOL like standard Silkies, it will be like 20 years before we get them LOL

Oh I didn't know that! Thanks! I honestly didn't know we had them LOL let alone APA accepted them

Didn't Javas originate in the US? I might be wrong I love them they seem like such great chickens. Hope I can gets some Javas and Faverolles when I have a farm both are very practical fowl and of course I will always have to have Faverolles.

According to the American Poultry Association:

One of our older breeds of poultry, the foundation came to the U.S. from the Far East. It did, however, undergo considerable modification here despite the fact it gets its name from the Island of Java.

Thanks that makes it more clear.

The Java bantam and the Java large fowl aren't related - they're completely different breeds. For example, the Java bantam - from Indonesia - has a rose comb, but the large fowl - from the United States - has a single comb.
