Bantam Only Crazy Egg Chain

I wrote and told him I was worried about him. He wrote back and said he was fine and that he'd send me Bantam Jap eggs as soon as his hens started laying again. I told him that was fine. After a month I wrote to touch base and haven't heard anything.

With all of the tornadoes I have been worried about him and his.

Deb

i have talked to him in the past and then i remembered he was in kentucky.his last personal post was feb 27th and the tornadoes hit around 3/1 or 2 i think.i thought if someone had gotten eggs from him, they could see what town he was in and if it was close to the bad weather areas.
his website doesn't mention where in kentucky.
just hope he is alright.

ok it does say where he is located-i thought i had looked ,but apparently not.lol

his county set up shelters for the tornadoe victims so maybe he is just busy helping out.

Patches- just an update on your eggs, they go in LD tomorrow. None of the EF developed and only 3 serama are vital but you know how they can be.

One is marked BQ, the other two are not marked, one is a very large eggs and the other small.

Hen Thymes~My apologies on the EF eggs. Did they not start developing at all? Did more than 3 Serama start to develop? I wonder if the PO did a number on them? I have been hatching out Serama's like crazy. My EF hatches have been poor compared to last year. (Old roo died, the young one may not be up to snuff yet!)

Let me know if you ever want to try again on either breed!

Not complaining here.... just updating also. My eggs went to lock down last night. 6 Serama and 1 EF. Only 1 EF developed. Saw some movement is some of the Serama. I will let you know.
It is a long trip.... and Serama are delicate to begin with.

ETA: I am not looking for replacements....just updating. I know the risks of shipping etc.

I know you aren't complaining! I appreciate the feedback. When my own recent hatch of EF went poorly, I suspected that either the young roo has fertility issues or the older hens haven't let him (ahem) have his way with them. lol Having 1 of your eggs develop says something, as opposed to none at all like Hen Thymes.

I certainly am not going to be sending these EF eggs out to anyone until my hatch rate goes up. Info/feedback like this is invaluable.

The hens are cranking out eggs like crazy....but they are only fit to eat if they aren't fertile or don't develop! I'll be setting more soon, plus I have some in an incubator right now, to see if things improve. The hens may decide they like this young fellow after all.....once they have trained him up right!

Meanwhile, I am sorry! Every egg I send out I am hoping will fulfill its destiny and become a chicken!

Half of the Serama eggs I sent you have made it to lock down? Whispering a little hatching prayer that they make it out safe, sound and healthy!

Please let me know!

Deb
