Even contest is over, I want to tell you that your rooster has gorgeous colors! I love D'Uccles, and I have a few self-blue (I call them baby-blue). Your boy is handsome.
theres only one true silkie and thats the silkie breed. now there are other breeds that the silkie gene is either introduced or just randomly pops up (kinda like the frizzling gene can) and that bird as to have 2 copies of that gene in order to have silkied feathers...to really learn more about the silkies and the silkie gene ask on the genitics thread and those on there can help you more understand this. but who ever told you that he was a silkie bantam lied sorry but he is handsomeI purchased him as a Silky Bantam. It was my first encounter with Bantams, But I was told there are different kinds/looks of them.
Your little Silky is sooo adorable. Is he a talker? It seems like that Punk never shuts up since he discovered his crow...all day long.
maybe not intentionally but its good info to have for next timehaha..you're funny. I don't think that person lied to me intentionally.
Thank you for the education, as I mentioned I'm new to raising chickens but I'm learning more every day.
thank you again.
have a blessed day
