My friend gave me four fertile eggs to put under my bantam. One completely disappeared which seems weird and I am trying to not think too hard about how. Lol šŸ˜

She has the following.
Hens - Ameraucana, Buff Orpington, Welbar, Black Australorp
Rooster is Blue Plymouth Rock
šŸ“ā¤ļø

The eggs are all light brown. The plan is for her to take the chicks once they’ve grown up enough. They are supposed to hatch around July 7th.

Question, how long do you wait before seeing if a broody hen will do another round? I was thinking of getting hatching eggs of a breed I really want.

Some hens want to brood all the time, some brood once and never again, and some never do, there is no definite answer for your question.

Just remember it takes a lot out of a hen sitting and hatching especially with all the heat we have been having. Not very healthy for your hen to do back-to-back hatchings. Especially as its only going to get hotter as summer peaks.
