Thanks!

Technically a bird isn't "show" quality until it has been successfully shown.

It is pretty young to judge gender, but so far I say girl.

thanks, well they said her parents were show quality and she cost 15.00! so expensive!

That's not too expensive, actually pretty cheap for SQ parents. Parents being show quality usually means nice, breeder quality in the offspring, but I don't believe that you can ever really have all of the offspring SQ, unless you have been breeding for years and years. I am thinking pullet, but need to wait a little longer, because of the semi-large comb. Though it's not at all red.

Illia and Happy Chooks, fill me in: why do you think female? (I think male due to the less distinctive markings (fuzzy markings) on the head.) What am I missing?

Says whom they are show quality??? PM me the name of that person and I can see or check that information out. Someetimes breeders would do that to make a quick buck and if you don't do your homework, you might get burned. Just hope that the breeder's name is reputable, hopefully is on the WCNA breeder's list.

I definately agree with Illia, so the chick is not show quality until he or she has been proven. So techically it is NOT show quality.

Hard to say what sex the chick will be....more like waiting a few more weeks for the chest feathers to come in and then you will have your answer.

How old is your chick?

I have these or I wouldn't even try. LOL

Looks like a pullet, but age tells. So how long have you had her and how old was she when you got her? About????

Also the fluff on the wings. With my Bantam Wellies the wings stay a little fluffier on the little roos, but there's usually a really light area where the wing starts near the shoulder.

Some breeders charge somewhere between five to fifteen dollars a chick as day olds. A four week old, would cost somewhere between ten to fifteen dollars. One pullet after four weeks or older would cost somewhere between $25 to $50 dollars and roos, a bit cheaper. That is the going rate right now for very good SQ Welsummer Bantams. The Dutch cost a bit more than the Germans.
