Bantam with bumblefoot!!

Hey! I have a petite bantam hen that has bumblefoot. It's very little, but I don't want it to spread. She is very small and young and I am afraid that anything to traumatic might damage her. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you so much, adrikeen! Do you think, because there it is right on her toe, i can just take the scab off? Its not even big enough to do surgery. Thanks agian!!

This is another option, non-surgical. I can't see it well enough in your pictures, but this may work for you. It just takes patience for the soaking.

Also I'm wondering if she lost her toenail or the tip of her toe and that's just a scab or even just dirt built up?
I think soaking it and very gently giving it a good cleaning would be a good start and just getting a good look. Hope that helps.

I agree that it looks like she lost a nail and had dirt/debris build up around the bloody area. This happens on my quail occasionally if they lose a nail, or they walk around in wet shavings and get balls of gunk on their feet sometimes. I'd say a good soak in warm water to clean her up, maybe a little Neosporin on the nail area if it looks rough from being broken off, and she should be as good as new.

I agree, it looks like she has lost a nail. You can soak it in epsom salts, then gently clean it. Examine it for any swelling or inflammation. Usually if it's kept clean you won't have any problems.
