i have a breeding pair of sarama bantams which we rescued last year and I don't know there age. We have only had one egg from the hen. Tonight she looked poorly and I brought her into the house and I noticed she had a swollen vent and pieces of soft shellhanging out the swollen vent I put her in the sink in warm water and managed to pull out some pieces of shell but as her vent is so small I can't get my finger in to check. I had this with one of my large chickens and nursed her back to health she had a blockage and a prolapse but with such a small bird it is difficult she is sitting under a heat light in the dining room her vent is swollen like a prolapse so I used hemoroid cream like I did with the other bird some advice would be brilliant please as she is a great little hen and the rooster is causing an awful racket without her thanks
