Hello! I was wondering if someone could help me out. My husband and I were casually looking at the chicks at our local rural king and ended up buying nine straight run chicks. They are supposed to be Bantams and four are supposed to be Cochin Bantams but I'm not 100%. I also need some help sexing and figuring out ideally what they actually are. Any advice is definitely welcome and appreciated!

Welcome to BYC! I know how the 'casually looking at chicks' goes. I've got about four in my brooder right now from 'just looking' at the chicks when I went to buy feed!

Yes, if they were being sold as straight run, it's likely that you won't be able to tell the gender until at least a month from now, maybe more. As for the breed question, individual pictures of each chick would help. We may be able to help identify some of them, but some chicks can look very similar from breed to breed. Once they get more of their hard feathers, it will be easier to tell. I see some chicks in your photo that look like they may be cochins, due to the heavily feathered legs.
