my experience with my 13 chickens has been quite horrible some times.... started with 13 after about 2 years it has been lowered to 7.... 6 as of 5 minutes ago :( we just found our RIR in the backyard dead laying with her feet in the air in the dirt bath area, vomited a bit a few feathers plucked out. we think it was a wip-snake or she choked on something... :( then something plucked a few feathers..

Oh no! I'm so sorry for your loss! I would recommend posting your concerns in the "Emergencies and Diseases" section. Usually, when you suddenly find a chicken dead because of disease, it can be a sign of NewCastle Disease or Avian Influenza. It is possible she choked on something, but I would still recommend posting it in the emergencies and diseases section. I hope you don't lose anymore chickens, unfortunately, losing chickens is a common factor in raising them.
