I have 5 bantams that I got from the TSC (Lost one of the minimum 6 purchase) on March 8th and I have one large fowl chick that hatched out on the 12th. The thing is, I was expecting the long LF chick to be bigger than the others by now. He isn't. In fact, some of the bantams are even bigger and fatter than him. So, does anyone know how long it takes for FL chicks to pass bantams in size?

My Large Fowl is an EE with an Ameraucana for a mother and a Lavender Orpington for its father so I'm expecting it to be on the large size for an EE. If they are the same size still, how likely is it that I got a clutch of non-bantams from the bin?

I have noticed that my LF chick's feet are bigger than the bantams but that is the only part of him that is bigger. So, anyone ever raised Bantams and LFs together and can tell me when their size differences become evident?

Last year, I got 6 bantams from TSC. They where badly mixed up so I ended up with only one bantam. Here she is at about 2 weeks old. (bantam in front, LF in back)

3 weeks, slightly smaller.

4 weeks

Also, some chicks grow slower than others.
Hope this helps!

Thanks. I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer to see if I actually got bantams. They are pretty (though skittish) and I even got one frizzle in the bunch which is a first for me.
