I just finished up incubation of 15 eggs. 8 of them were random LF and all but 1 hatched (I was iffy on the one, anyway). There were 7 blue cochin bantam eggs and only 2 hatched. When I candled the eggs at day 18, I could see movement in all of them except the one questionable random LF egg. I've been in touch with the seller this whole time, who is local, and he told me that he has always had better luck with bantams being hatched with a broody vs an incubator. I was curious if anyone had any input on what may have happened that the bantams were just more sensitive? I opened one of the eggs and it's a fully developed bird with an almost absorbed yolk sak which makes me think it died at like day 20. I didn't feel like opening up all of them, but thought I'd get an idea based off this one. Thanks for any input you can give! I would like to get more eggs from this guy because they were very affordable, and I just love bantam cochins.
