Mine are usually off heat by 5 weeks or so. That's the same time mama starts weaning them. There's no way I'd wait 10 weeks to put them outside, even in Maine. If they take that long to feather out, you're keeping them too warm.

Are bantam's white or a reddish brown? Because as of yesterday, i baught a white bantam rooster which is white, and i had thought they were a reddish brown Because my dad a year and a half ago baught me some "bantams" from tractor supply.... totally different color, and SIZE?! My Rooster half the size of my ladies and I am afraid he going to get picked on rather than mate with them. And my Rhode Island Red Rooster 3 times as big as him... will he kill him!?
ok. thanks. do you think my bantam rooster will get any bigger though? The person I got him from had him in a small cage for his one year of life. an 18X18X18 inch crate. and he and another chicken (hen). a blue bresse i think. i got from there are both small and barely eat. Will they eat more? and be more active? I'm going to have them as free roamers.
Yes, she should, as long as she's healthy. I just saw the pictures you sent me and they both look nice and healthy, they just need to get over any weakness from if they were caged all the time, and adjust to their new lifestyle.thanks. So the hen will lay eggs too? after she get's used to everything?
