Bantom rooster attacking people!!

That's what I'd do. I don't have mean roos as a rule, but when one starts attacking I've had no luck re-training/re-directing etc. And I will no longer take the time, energy, effort, scratched legs to try. Come at me once, okay, I'll kick your butt and see if you think I'm not boss. Come at me again, you're gone.

An ENTHUSIASTIC X2! I think this is exactly the right attitude. There are a lot of roosters in the world looking for homes, no need to keep a nasty one. And they are really hard to rehab. If you have kids, I wouldn't even try. I've posted this before, and reposted it for someone else today, but it seems appropriate to put it here, too.

Red Wicket Rules for Roosters
1. You shall look pretty. If you don't look pretty, you go to the stew pot.
2. You shall be nice to hens. Rough up the hens, you go to the stew pot.
3. You shall not breed hens in front of me. If you try to breed a hen while I'm around, I will kick you. Hard. Those are MY hens, buster.
4. You belong to me. Therefore, I will pick you up off the roost any time I feel like it. I will carry you upside down, I will tickle your toes, I will look at your feathers, I will call you "Itsy Bitsy Cutie Wooty Widdly Rooster Baby."
5. You shall not take one single offensive action towards any human. The first offensive action, no matter how small (like looking at me mean with feathers puffed up) will result in you immediately being chased around the pasture as fast as I can go while I scream and squawk and try to hit you with whatever I'm carrying. After this, you will be punished by being picked up and carried around all the time. See #4.
6. The second offensive action taken toward any human, no matter how small, and you go into the stew pot. There are no third chances.

My bantam rooster gets a hair up his butt and attacks me, I pretty much ignore it. He ain't full sized and I can swat him like a mosquito. I can't imagine him hurting me. Does yours leave marks when he attacks? He mostly goes after my ankles it's more of a annoyance then a danger. He flew up to my shoulders once and I caught him mid flight and he hasn't tried that again. I find hm laughable of course I have had full sized roo after me and that was down right terrifying. Does he leave marks when attacking?
He does leave big scratches. He start at the top of the legs/arms and scratches all the way down.

There is no way that would be tolerated here. We have family with small children that come to visit. Imagine what he could do to a little kid. Even if he didn't cause any major physical harm, it could cause a small child to become scared of chickens for life! Not to mention, part of the reason I keep chickens is for the enjoyment of it. If one chicken is taking that away from me, he's gotta go.

Thanks. He hasen't been attacking as much since i've been showing him who is boss!!!
