I am on my third attempt at incubating OEG Bantums. They start developing and then by day 18 have all quit. Do you incubate these differently than other chicken eggs?

As far as I know, no.

Bump, hope it gets you more info.

Sounds like maybe a bacteria problem. Take it all apart and sterilize it really well and put it back together and try again. That happened to me last year too.

The bantam egg's seem to be a little more fragile. We are hatching Moder Game bantam's and at first I was using an LG and the littlist spikes seemed to kill them. We have not converted to a Hova Bator and don't see to be having the same problem. I lost my first two bantam hatches to temp fluctuation and I'm not sure why the best that I could come up with was that maybe since they are so much smaller the temp fluctuations have a stronger effect on them. Hope this helps.

I have used an LG for the first two batches and this thrid one is in a hovabator. The temp fluctuation kinda explains it although it was always with in a degree or two. It was never enough to affect the regular chicken eggs. I have disinfected the incubator every time before putting fresh eggs in. Thanks for the ideas.

Mine was only within a few degree's as well but I've exhausted every other option so I'm hoping that's it. We will see if what I have in the hova bator hatches as well. I had no problem hatching regular chicken egg's or duck egg's in the LG but for some reason I couldn't hatch our bantam egg's. Hope this hatch goes better for you.
