Healthy Harvest feed from Walmart?

UPDATE!
I’ve been feeding my ladies this feed for the past month and so far everything is fine there laying like they were on other brands. I can recommend it.

Worst. Feed. Ever. I've had 3 girls pass away since I had used it and only put two and two together too late. I'm not sure if the label is correct or not but i had so many soft shells that I thought I was either had a rodent or a chicken that was breaking shells. I set up cameras to see what was going on the day my "Trouble" passed away. One of my big strong girls (Trouble) with a beautiful crown passed away from a broken shell inside of her...I gave her two epsom salt baths, stuff came out of her...her crown started to wilt like she was having a circulation issue....in a day she was gone...petting her all night to try to give her circulation...long story short....another girl with a crop issue and another a kidney/crop issue who hadn't laid in ages passed away as well on this feed. Since I've switched to Organic Henhouse reserve my other girls have been fine. I monitor their crops and vents every day and will never buy this cheap Wal-Mart version of feed ever again. It's been a heartbreaking experience.

I’m sorry to hear that. I have switched to a local farm store feed as well. Not because of any issues with the happy harvest but because of price.

I used that feed a few times when my local tractor supply was wiped out of feed during the pandemic. My chickens (admittedly they were very picky) did not like it. They did not lay well while on it, but they were not laying well during that time, like many others on different feed. It might have changed since then, but it was not something my chickens liked. A lot of wasted feed every day.

Oddly enough, my barn cats love eating the chicken feed, and they also turned up their noses at this feed.

I started using it a few months ago when our walmsrt started carrying it- looks great - chickens love it - heres the thing - my eggs cant be washed without breaking- I used to have almost slam my eggs on the counter, now they break in the basket - O am going back to producers pride to see if that will help with the strength of the shell

I've used it in a pinch. I have roosters so I don't generally use layer feed but I have had some late deliveries due to weather.
The problem is that my hens love it but they pick out the bits and leave the pellets.
If your hens are doing what mine do, they may not be getting enough calcium or general nutrition. I think you are right to go back to your former feed.
