Banty EE? pullet or Roo? What do you call this color?

That's really fascinating how you can just look at this little guy and know what breeds are there. I guess I know a little more about dogs than chickens. BTY, this little guy is quite a character. 4-5 times a day he flies up to the wind chimes and pecks on them to make them ring! So cute.

I agree with hdowden, as to your little one being a mix with golden neck and white d'Uccle. I have 5 golden necks in my brooder that are 7 days old. They are such pretty little chicks and already enjoy all the attention they are receiving. I already have a pair of mille fleurs and they are so sweet. The little roo loves to be carried around while I tell him how handsome he is.

Thanks--I looked up the golden neck because I have never heard of this color (is it a color or a breed?) before. These are the only d'uccles I have. If they were bred, what would I have?? CCross between mille flure and golden neck-white?

Golden Neck is a color that is available within the D'Uccle breed. Just like Porceline, Mille Fleur, etc.

If you crossed them, the white would probably be the primary color that makes it through (it's dominant), with faded and incoherant spangling here and there (most likely will skip the black, the white will be lost in the white base feathers, and the red will probably be the secondary color that really comes out.)

true from the above post but theres no harm in breeding them and seeing what happens...

Thanks for the info. The window above my desk looks out on my chicken run and I love sittling here watching them do their thing.
