banty eggs - inedible?

Yup, same thing everyone else has said...whoever told you that bantam eggs are inedible was wrong. We have 4 standard hens and 2 bantams, and we eat the bantam eggs all the time. One of the ladies from my work loves getting our bantam eggs because she loves to freak her doctor out by telling him that she had 4 eggs for breakfast.

There is absolutely no genetic difference between an egg from a large chicken, and an egg from a bantam chicken. Whoever told you that nonsense is...I'll just say a fool. We eat eggs from all of our birds, standard AND bantam. They taste the same. They're just a little smaller. Does this same person tell you that a Chihuahua is not really a dog because it's small? Give me a break, lol! What some people believe amazes me sometimes.

What I noticed the differences in my bantams and LF, that the bantam egg yolks are a little larger than the larger cousins. So it is less egg whites for those who LOVES to eat yolky eggs.

I agree our bantom's eggs hae a larger yolk but they make really good hard boiled eggs:)

but someone told me that bantam eggs are inedible? It that true?

I can't believe anyone would even say that. I've been eating bantam eggs for 25 years and I sell them as well. They may be small but are delicious.

OMG I guess I am trouble for eating those unedibile eggs. And so are all these people I gave eggs to.

I noticed just this morning that the egg yolk in my bantie eggs were almost the same size as the large fowl egg. Funny that I should notice that on a day when this question is posted.

Ours always look so cute in the carton beside the Barred girls eggs

One little pale cream one and one little brown one - Well, the brown ones are on hold now as Little Red just hatched her first brood yesterday
