I just got home from dinner with the parents and there was a huge clog of POOP on one's but and I took it to the restroom and got the clump off but the vent was so small I couldn't see it! I gave it a little fuzzy but hair bob but it keeps picking at it's bottom should I separate it over night? Or just check tomorrow morning?

Not sure what you are saying but this is what I did when my bantam silkie had pasty butt:
Got a WARM (not hot or cold) dixie cup of water and paper towelling.
Keep wetting the towelling when it gets cold and start to gently try to remove the poop from it's butt.
If it's dry you can rip its skin.
Soon the poop should be all gone.
Put a little vaseline around it's butt, it should prevent pecking because it doesn't taste good and it prevents pasty butt from coming back.

Good luck.

OH! and MAKE SURE the chick is dried off before you put the vaseline on. It could chill and die. DON'T get it wetter than it has to get. Just dampen the paper towel, don't soak it.

Oh I feel so bad now when I took the clump off I wet it with warm water and then started to take pieces off but they were a little tough to get off in the end so I hope I didn't hurt her she cheeped the whole time!

THIS WAS MY FIRS TIME DEALING WITH PASTY BUTT

next time I'll follow your directions but since I didn't know how long it had been blocked I thought it best to get it off, and it really just crumbled off till the last piece then the poo just stuck to her bottom till I thought it wouldn't come off so I got the scissors and very carefully gave her but a haircut... Whew! Now she's pooping good

Okay.. any blood?
If she's pooping good, that's a good sign!

Mine kept getting pasty butt until I put vaseline on her chick down (the butt fluff haha). Then she stopped getting pasty butt.

Plus we bonded over these many pasty butt-cleaning moments LOL! She's my favorite hen now.

Well she made it through the night! there wasn't any blood just pink irritation. But I think another is getting it so running out to get some Vaseline and another heat bulb stupid on blew in the middle of the night and even though the thermo said 65 they were all huddled together and all made it thank goodness! It was only a 75 watt so I put a 60 one in for now and will get another bulb in about 30 minutes when the feed store opens.
