Barastoc chick starter - can u feed it to ducks

Can I feed medicated barastoc chick starter to I one ducklings?

You can feed chick starter to ducklings but since its for chicks the little one will need more niacin than what it offers so pick up some Nutritional yeast and sprinkle a Tablespoon over a cup of feed so it gets proper amount for niacin since niacin def can cause leg and neurological issues. They need the niacin for at least first 10 weeks that is when they are doing their growing.

thankyou I wasn’t sure because their was so much about not feeding ducklings medicated feed. I do hav a little of duck and goose starter but cos I hav chicks too wasn’t sure if they should eat that either..

Okay this chick starter is medicated? Depends on what the medication is can you let us know. But if you have duckling starter just use it.

Never heard of it. I’d go with the water fowl starter. @casportpony

That is not on my list of medications that are safe for ducklings so I think I would feed something else.

I use an all flock feed that has the right niacin level and nutrition for ducks(even tho I add brewers yeast-another form of niacin, to ensure they are getting the right amount). I buy mine at tractor supply co and I am 99% sure that you can feed it to ducklings.

If your feed has a picture of a duck on the bag I'm sure it's fine.

Yeah it does...it even has a duckling so I think it would work fine too!
