Barbarous Bobcat

I hope the chicken breast works for you. I wouldn't assume she is gone yet. She probably is patrolling it every night just like the one near me. You could also set up battery operate motion sensor that turns on a LED light to help scare her away. Hope this helps! Best of luck to you!

I have 3 around the pen and one out near the woods where we know it uses a certain path.
Maybe that is also helping.
Thanks for your help and encouragement.

Oh, I forgot to mention. For some strange reason, my dog, who never went into that pasture has lately taken it upon herself to patrol that area every morning. She is the sweetest pit bull you have ever seen, but maybe it is enough to spook the cat.

She has probably been smelling the cat in the area. We have a hunting lab and a brittany spaniel. They always check around my yard an the cat still came back. The dogs normally bark at night if something is outside, but this is the first animal that could kill quite enough so they didn't wake them up. They truly are the ultimate predator!

The best way to stop a bobcat is to make your coop and run predator proof and this is not any easy thing to do.
We've had to stop free ranging our chickens because of bobcats. It's sad but its the only way to keep them safe. Bobcats
will come out in the day or night to get their chicken dinner. We lost one hen but have not lost anymore(over a year) since they are in
their pen all day and we lock them up at night.

So sorry for you loss.

On our coop and run we used 1/2" hardware cloth.

Nice coop! I'm sorry that you had to stop free ranging your chickens, but it's better than a chicken dinner for the bobcat
