The brown bird is a cross of a Rhode Island Red male and a Delaware female. She was getting picked on so I moved her in with my Rhode Island Whites and all is well.

I was just about to ask what the difference was in Rhode Island Reds and production reds?

There are a lot of variations. Production Red is a Rhode Island Red but not a true Rhode Island Red. I show my birds. I raise pure Rhode Island Reds. Here are some pictures. I raise both Rose Comb and Single Comb RIR's.
Rose Comb Rhode Island Red male.

Single Comb Rhode Island Red female.

These are Rhode island Reds/Production Reds.
