Barbu D'Anvers color question. Silver Quail?

Hello everyone!

Just a little update. I was able to hatch out 2 chicks from the golden roo and the gold quail. Picture below.

Looks like one is a silver, and the other is a gold? I assume the silver will be a hen. From basic research online, they seem to be eb based, is that correct? Possible to tell if they have Pg at this point?

They're very cute! I don't know, I'm not great with chick colors. They're definitely a gold and silver columbian though, if they were totally melanized with quail they would look less like mille fluer chicks and more like quail chicks.

A little 2 week update on the chicks! Sorry for the picture quality, it was getting dark. One does seem to be gold and the other silver. I hope they turn out to be quails, or something close..

They seem more columbian than quail to me.My quails tend to have very dark wings to begin with.

Ooo.. Let’s see! I would be happy to get some columbians, which means they only need a couple copies of the Ml gene to be quail. I really hope they don’t have Pg or Db..
