hi there. I have a rooster in with 6 girls and have noticed he has a favourite whose back is bare. I haven’t been able to catch this hen for a while but today I did and noticed it. It isn’t bleeding but just doesn’t have any feathers on it. I am taking the rooster away for a while until they regrow. Is there anything I should do to help her or just give her time to regrow those feathers?

You can get "aprons" for hens to protect from over breeding. It also would be a good idea since she could get sunburn on the bare parts until the feathers grow back.

I had thought about that but she is a frizzle so I don’t know how well it will work. Thank you though, i will try and get one and trial it
