I have 17, 7 week old chicks. Two of them, both Russian Orloffs, have no feathers on their backs under their wings. There do not be appear to be any sores or wounds, just no feathers. All of the other chicks, which are all different breeds, have feathers everywhere. Is this something typical of a Russian Orloff?

Based on the feathers I can see, they do look possibly like cockerels. That’s very interesting I’ve never seen it before.

Kind of a tough call, some of those feathers look picked at if I look really close.

I did a little reading and it does say that orloffs are slow developers so you might be okay. Maybe give them another couple weeks and post full body pics?

Ughhh... I know that sexing is not 100% but I did order pullets and all the other sexed chickens I have bought have been the correct sex, so I think it's unlikely that both of them are cockerels. I am doing more research on this, but for now, I think their skin looks fine? (On a side note, when using talk to text to write about sexing, make sure you check the spelling before you press send!)

Thank you! I will do that! As I said in the original post nobody else has this condition and their skin looks okay to me. I will watch and wait:)
