From March to October I only wear shoes when I'm going to work or stores.

Oh the house is shoe-free, we have a shoe rack at the front door for nice shoes, and one at the back for yard shoes. In the front are all the sexy heels and satin shoes, in the back are canvas and clogs.

Good to know mine are not the only chickens that think toes are worms! I have some clogs I plan on using-only a couple of silkies in there now, not too much poo yet.

We have dozens of chickens & masses of poo! DD & I wear rubber knee boots from TSC, which we scrape on a boot scraper, near the run. (Sounds prissy, eh?) Despite our efforts I find gobs of poo caked shavings in our entry way - eauwwwww!

Just imagin.... You walk into your coop or run barefoot.....You see yor favorite hen...Your reach to pick her up becase she has pretty lil pullet eyes... She steps backwards... You step forward and WHAM! You step into a nice warm big ol pile of poop that seeps it's way through your toes....

I'm with Emzyyy...I have a pair of big pink croc clogs and the hens are just fascinated with them, especially if they see my toes thru the holes. They'll follow me all over the yard and watch my feet! I couldn't figure out the fascination until my son confessed that he had put worms in the shoes once when they were left on the patio and watched the chickens try to get them out of the holes in the tops......mystery solved.

Couple of years a go my DD got intestinal worms:th.
The doctor said she probably got them fallowing me around in the coop barefoot. He said some parasites can enter your body threw the bottom of your feet. The whole family ended up getting dewormed. We always where some kind of shoes in the coop now.
