BARKING SHELTIE

Quote:
Your Sheltie might have been Debarked. I've read that they "Breeders" sometimes have this done so they can't bark.

Kinnip's sheltie came from me, she has not been "debarked" trust me...... She is just being shy since she is new to them. Pretty soon I will get a PM asking why she won't stop......

That is good to hear! I hate that practice anyway I would never recommend it. She is probably waiting for the middle of the night to show that she can bark

try a squirt bottle with water..on full blast..when he barks..dont really react..just squirt him in the face..and say no!..or hush!(or whatever your specific cue word for him is)....then ignore him...if he barks again..squirt again...but do it in a calm..cool way......but you have to squirt him as soon as he barks...or the meaning will be lost on him..he wont get why you are squirting him...hope it helps some..Wendy
