Hey everyone, I have an old run down barn I plan on fixing up real nice and putting my coop in one of the stall areas. The barn has an open layout but has 1 smaller stall type area and a large stall in the back. Has anyone every converted a stall into their coop? I am trying to picture ideas but I am currently stumped (probably because the barn needs so much work) but any ideas will be more than welcome! Thanks in advance! I also planned on getting pictures of it tomorrow to post if that will help. There just isn't any time to do it today

Wow, great job of collecting links @crazy4ChickensNducks :thumbsup

I've never had a barn to use a stall for a coop, but it looks like the stall would give a person a head start...you'd already have a roof and at least 1 or 2 walls to work with.

Keep us posted on how it works for you @Chirpchirp19

Pictures will help tremendously! Where are you located? That will help with ideas for your coop.

Chickens create a LOT of dust. Depending on how you build your coop, be prepared to have dust on everything in your barn. Since mine were open air coops, that probably helped the dust spread more than an enclosed coop.

I had an old pole type barn. I used 3 of the stalls and turned them into coops with attached runs. They worked out great. I've used them for the last 5 yrs. Click on my coop in my avatar and it will take you to both coop threads.

I'm working on the same project. I am currently frustrated that stall mats have gotten so expensive ($47.99 at my TSC!), and hoping to find some seconds, used ones, or at least sale ones before I need to move the birds in.
