Barn sash window

I've been searching around the internet and this forum looking for an answer. I am looking for a barn sash window. The smallest I have seen to purchase is 20x25. I am needing one a little bit smaller as it will go on my front door of the coop. How can I build one? I'm limited to a chop saw, skill saw and saws all I'm a beginner when it comes to carpentry. I've seen a video on you tube but it looked pretty complicated. I'll try to attach a pic of what I'm wanting. Thanks.

If you had a Kreg pocket screw jig you could make the window out of 1x3's and some plexiglas pretty easy. Hmm searching Amazon I came across a neat pocket screw jig that is a lot more cost effective than Kreg an Impakt Tools p1 Portable Pocket Hole Jig.

I just made my own windows over the weekend, like JT described, with a Kreg pocket screw jig. I used 1 x 3 but did use a router to make a 3/8 rabbet to put the glass. You just make a square and fasten them together. Here's the Kreg jig I use and a window frame, without the glass. You could search Kreg jig on You Tube for videos, to see how easy it is to use.

I've been looking for a solution to the same problem the last few days. I assume the smallest you found was the Northview 20x25? I found this site where you can order custom smaller sizes. It is more expensive than the ~$25 cost northview window but seems to be better quality and less drafty as they are glazed.

You won't find ready-made little windows at a regular lumber yard or building supply store. Try a place that builds or sells children's playhouses. Pretty much anything you might need for a full-scale house is available for the backyard mini mansion - even Palladian windows!

Added later - I also searched shed windows - and found all sorts of smaller windows - down to 14" - even some specifically designed for coops. I was just curious, but now I'm rethinking my planned upgrade!

Thanks everyone. I ended up changing my coop plans. I found some old windows at an antique store. They're larger which is why I just bit the bullet and changed my front framing. Still going with the barn sash style. I'll get some pics up when I'm finished.

Yes that's what I plan on doing. Think there will be too much light in there?
