We have honestly never had a predator take a cat . I have always allowed our cats to go in and out of the house freely and never had a problem . Also we have several ferral cats living in the barn and one is atleast 10 yrs old and they have never been harmed . Our dogs also have never harmed a cat . The dogs and cats here get along like one big pack . We have trouble with raccoons and foxes in the chicken houses but have never had one harm a cat . The cats are just to quick and can climb a tree or the barn rafters to escape .

We have cats. And live on the last neighborhood street in town butted up against thousands of acres of grasslands and a couple of small orchards.
We have no rodents, no snakes, and hardly ever even a cricket.
(And mine are all indoors...)
I can’t even imagine how bad the vermin population would be if not for the cats.
I think its a brilliant idea as long as there is monitoring of the situation and a good plan B in case its not working out for the cat.

Great Idea... If the company were in Cal. I would adopt 10 cats every 6 months for my horse barn.( 33 horses). I used to get 10 semiwild/ wild cats every 6 months from the local county pound untill they started to charge $35 each.

I simly can't afford it. Why 10/ 6 months? Well they make nice snacks for the local huge coyote population.

I now get poison Grain from the County Office to poison the rat, mouse and ground squirel populations.

I'm guessing you don't have many rat snakes. In Florida, there is a very large population, which is why so many barn kittens never make it to opening their eyes. Gators get quite a few as well. We never had any problem with coyotes, but here in rural Alabama we do have a pack, which is probably why I have never even seen a feral cat in the 5 years I've been here.
