Barnevelder breeders lets work together and improve the breed

Pics
Has anyone had any experience with Gabbard Farms Barnies ? I need some more barnies and was thinking of ordering some eggs form them.

thanks Tricha

Yes the 'mother' hens are missing one Ml gene. It seems I did not mannage to breed it into any of the female offspring- I have no Idea what the rooster had maybe he was missing one too. So you think once i get the other Ml in there it should help improve that?

I am finding it hard picking between roosters at them moment.. I am too scared to make a wrong decision! And end up with what seems to be a fruit-less breeding season next year too! lol

I have one hen that has the best lacing I have seen in the flesh- but she did come from a mixed batch of V chicks. She is the only one I have left from this line. She was very different to her sister though in that her sister was unmistakebly shafty all over her front- this girl is not. There were normal eb chicks in the hatch- I just never marked them. late in the season hatch and I just could not be bothered and did not know the importance of it then!

Thanks, I will send him a pm and see if it is his.
If they are "borrowed" pics I think I wont be getting them.

ETA

His PM Inbox was full so I sent it to the email listed on his profile.

The pictures are from Joel at Bluehenhatchery the member that started this thread. I hope it's his ebay sale and not someone who "borrowed" his pictures.

Trisha

Is Joel from Harrodsburg, KY? The seller is, and they claim the picture is one of their birds...

We picked up six chicks this weekend. They are so cute. I can't wait to watch them grow. The adults at the farm were gorgeous.
