Male barnevelder feather out completely different than females. Both sexes can be bold. Both sexes can be bigger.Really? Here are my “ concerns” .
Extra large feet and thick legs
Stands up tall to look at threats (like the lawnmower) when confirmed pullets are running and hiding
Beginnings of waddles before 7 weeks
Long pointy tail at 3 weeks
Showed aggression towards one of my docile adult hens
I would be so happy if it is a pullet, but I am seeing these signs of it being male. It is not acting as “manly” as the other one that turned out to be male, as far as chasing and aggression towards the other young pullets.
I’m praying you’re right. Out of four pullets, I already have one male EE. I don’t think two roos would work in my small flock. Plus I was really looking forward to those dark brown eggs!Male barnevelder feather out completely different than females. Both sexes can be bold. Both sexes can be bigger.
