Barnevelders

Hi
I have three Barnevelders and they are approx 2.5 months old. All look very similar as it is with this breed but I have a suspicion this one may be a boy?

Totally Agree! The feathers make it look female but it does indeed look older than 2 1/2 mths.

Hi thank you. I hatched them here but my book is inside with all hatch dates in, could be a bit older maybe 4 months if I recall correctly! So pleased they are all female I kind of thought they were but Maybe she’s getting ready to lay and that’s why her comb looks a bit bigger. Thanks again

4 months sounds much more likely.

Gorgeous girls! Love that double lacing pattern.

They appear to be all females. Males are more ornate and lack the hen lacing pattern.

They are beautiful birds as well as the lacing there is a blue tinge to the feathers in the sun and their legs are a lovely yellow colour., and lovely nature too. Looking forward to their dark brown eggs. You could squeeze a couple in as they aren’t too big!
