Hello there! Well I ordered a Barnyard special from Sand Hill Preservation Center. That is a package where they send you anything that they have left over, which could be chick or ducklings or turkeys or any other birds they have.
Has anyone ever gotten this package? And any tips on how I can get ready for them? They are coming in June. Any tips would be helpful! Thanks!

One thing I CAN tell you is the ducklings are MESSY! If you get any of those be prepared. They need a tray under and wire cage if at all possible or you will be cleaning the brooder three time a day, and they go through ALOT of water.

I have chicks, turkey poults and ducklings all living happily in the same pen. Turkeys grow faster than chicks so they can go outside sooner too, same with ducks.

I was told by someone that I couldnt have turkeys and chickens living in the same pen together when they are older. Is this true? and if so why?

I tried to have my chickens and my turkeys in the same pen, but the turkeys got so big and tromppled my poor chickens, I don't think it is a good idea. Plus I feed my chickens lay mash and my turkeys eats turkey crumble, and it is to hard to try to seperate them at feeding time. Good luck.
