I'm starting to wonder about the gender of one of our chicks, Millie. They're a week old so I know it's pretty/really early. She seems to feather a bit slower than the others mainly in the tail feather department. I think she's feathering faster on the wings than our partridge cochin cockerel (Oliver) did years ago. His boyish characteristics were apparent earlier. He was very alert and assertive. Millie, our barred cochin now, isn't assertive at all. Her sisters are more active actually.

Here's Millie

Here's Quincy, she's a silver laced pattern.

We used to have a barred cochin with Oliver, named Gracie, who feathered pretty fast and her feathers actually seemed to be lighter than Millie's.

Gracie (Oliver in the back, notice how little his wing feathers were.)

Sorry if this seemed like too much information but I wanted to give some context. :D

It's too young to tell for sure. Generally Cochin boys will feather out much slower than the pullets. They can be still half naked while the girls are mostly feathered. The boys will get their pink combs between 3-5 weeks. By 5 weeks the comb will be much bigger. They are fairly easy to sex based on these observations.

She's still behind in feathering on the tail. The others are growing feathers around their shoulders(?) but not her. Now I'm wondering if anyone's had barred cochin hens that have had dark feather's like Millie's.
