What do you think? I was told this is a pullet but I am no so sure...

I don't know if the barring works the same as it does for rocks but if it does you have a boy.

Looks awfully roo-y to me, if it's a few months...

Comb appears to be red (but with the picture quality I can't tell) and the barring is very light - signs of a male.

How old is the bird? And we need pictures of the saddle feathers.

I believe I was told 8 weeks when I got her which was on April 2. Let me go see if I can get another photo.

Oh, I sure hope not! EE's are so tricky. I really don't see any saddle feathers, and the comb isn't that big. Mine kept me guessing pretty much until they laid eggs! Did the folks at the swap say it is a Barred Rock or Cukoo Marans cross? That would make a difference, and since it is a mix it's going to be harder to judge just by the color of the barring.

Barring doesn't work the same with the crosses. My males are very dark, very light and everything in between, so you cannot go by that. Right now, it look pullet-y in some ways and the look in the eye looks male, but the crosses are not always so easy. I don't see any shiny saddle feathers yet.

I think they said it was a barred rock cross but I really can't remember. I was just in love with the bearded face.
