Bumblefoot would look like a black scab or spot, and it would likely be swollen. If he has anything that looks wrong on his foot, post pictures. There are good folks on here who can tell you exactly what it is and how to best treat it

Ok will do. I'll probably have to rope my other half into helping catch Mr.Sparkles to get pics. hopefully it's nothing to worry about.

The easiest time to try to catch them is at night when they're on the roost. If you have a head lamp it's SO nice, but a regular flashlight works.
Mr Sparkles is a very handsome boy btw

None, it's a roo.

I clearly wasn't paying attention and just looking at the comb, I thought it was a hen.

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll know for sure until you breed him with a BH hen and see what you get for eggs. There is conflicting information out there about the breed. The conservancy and other sites say they have yellow/orange legs, where as I'm told (too cheap to buy the SOP) the SOP calls for white legs. They were developed at Rutgers University and their birds have white legs. That said, many will cross them to bring out yellow/orange legs.

My stock came from Suzanne Holland and have white legs and lay white eggs.
