I have also heard my Dad say she used light bulbs once, but anything round or egg shaped should help to train them to the idea. I have all girls and my Eva is acting broody.

still no luck embedding. OK now question am I the only one getting speckled eggs from mine!?! my giants lay big pale brown,the EEs of course do a rainbow but my BRs give speckled eggs??

My chickens have a way with getting things in the run. Like empty yogurt cups, and brussel sprouts too.... I would be worried that they would break the light bulbs and eat the glass LOL. Good suggestion though.
