Hi all! I received my batch of chicks yesterday and I have two barred Plymouth rocks. I was told it was 95% sure they were females but when I digged a little deeper, I'm starting to think they are both Roos. Any thoughts? I'd appreciate any feedback :) thank you!

Can I get a look at their leg color?
With my case of Barred Rocks, my females had a large headspot, & dark legs, or dark washed legs.
My male, had a tiny almost non existent headspot, & light colored legs.

I ordered Heritage Plymouth Barred Rocks, & that's what I had in the line of genders.

Hey there! So males have a larger patch on there head, and females, a smaller. Here is a pic:View attachment 2211723

It actually doesn't have anything to do with the size of the headpot. If the spot is well defined, it is a female. If the spot kind of blends into the gray, it is a male.

Not reliable. My pullet was a light colored chick who had a large headspot that faded to the back of her neck.

Hi all! Thank you so much. Their legs are pretty light...
