Barred Rock and Brahma chicks?

I got these from TSC and thought they were labeled correctly, but as they're growing, I'm not so sure. The two black chicks are supposed to be barred rocks, but one only, the bottom pic, looks like it's getting the correct coloration on his/her feathers. The other three are supposed to be light Brahma, but they are all looking really different. They are the sweetest though, and the littlest one is now sleeping in my hands

It looks like you got Black Australorps rather that Barred Rocks. The Light Brahmas look about right for hatchery birds.

I guess the moral of the story is to buy from a hatchery next time, right?

That would be best to be sure you are getting what you are wanting.

Even then it's not guaranteed you'll get what you want, but yeah. If you don't care about quality that's probably the best way to go.
