Barred Rock Chick question

With my Barred Rock crossbreed project, about half the birds bred true. The rest are interesting genetic throwbacks. I got a couple with all black heads and yellow faces.

I agree, chick looks like an Australorpe, black beak, yellow belly and cheeks...is she pretty laid back?
BR crossbreed is a neat looking bird, lol, does have a wild look about her!

She's flighty as hell. lol Once I have her in my hands, she chills. However, she knows when I'm stalking her to pick her up.

The chicks in my avatar are barred rock at 31 days. The white spots on their heads disappeared. They've never had anything yellow on their face. I don't need another rooster so I keep calling them girls, LOL! They really don't show any rooster features at all. So I'll keep calling them girls. Have fun with your wee ones.

Do ALL BR chicks (babies) have some sort of spot on the head? I have an alleged BR baby but has a solid black head with a yellow eye mask....hmmm

Here are the 12-13 week old pics of the chick in question...She definitely has a different body shape than the RIR. Thoughts?? I call her Looney UNI...because she has a unicorn horn. LOL
