Barred Rock chick wont gow

My Barred Rock female chick is not growing. The other chick I bought at the same time (a Polish) is now a pullet. New chicks I have since bought are a month younger and the same size. She still has fuzz and not pin feathers. I have tried letting her outside for sun/fresh air, watermelon, cantaloupe and electrolytes in the water. I have 10ish female chicks that are growing. Any ideas??

There are a number of possibilities. I have had parrot chicks fail to thrive a number of times and each time the cause was an intestinal infection. Try giving her antibiotics made for respiratory and intestinal infections and separate her from the other birds. This type of infection can spread.

Birds are masters at acting healthy until things get real bad. A sick bird in nature is a dead bird so acting healthy is an important adaptation for survival. Low grade infections are insidious in that the birds very often appear fine; even to the extent of laying eggs and hatching babies. With my parrots this is when the problem shows up. Parent feed babies-the bacteria is transmitted from parent to chick-the chick is weaker so the infection causes death quickly if something isn't done fast-antibiotics.
