Barred Rock Chick

We got her from a feed store kind of far from our home. Our feed store we always go too wouldn't have chicks for another few days so we picked 3 up from another to try them out. The guy didn't know squat and I've heard mixed reviews about the place so I wouldn't be surprised if she is some sort of mutt.

Could be. I have raised a lot of barred rock and do not recall ever having one with white like this one.

I actually had a few Barred Rock chicks with a bit more white than usual.

The one closest to the camera, for instance.

And this one.
Grew up to be completely normal looking, hatchery quality birds.

I'm not sure if that feed store is local or hatchery. I'm guessing they came from a hatchery. She has such a cute white face. I wonder what it will look like when she grows up more. I'll have to remember to post it.

It's been a month

I'm curious what she looks like now.

Here are some pictures of her now. Just went out and took them. She still has a little left but its starting to go away. We call her Cleopatra. Haha. The first is blurry but you can still see it.
