I hope you can find a place!! We are in the process now of building in an area where we can have them. It will be so nice!
If he does start crowing before you move, I have had success with putting a crowing cockerel in a cardboard box at night and closing it (it’s far from airtight, but is dark in there) and then either bringing it inside or in the garage overnight, or sometimes just leaving the box in the coop. Then around 9 am I will let the boy back out and if he crows during the day it isn’t a big deal. Most people don’t seem to mind very much if they aren’t being woken up early by crowing!
