Well, I found a home for my sweet little obvious BR rooster "Beau" at a friends property and he is loving it. They gave me 2 little BR chicks from a local hatchery that were not accepted by a broody hen. They should be 2 weeks old at this point. Just wondering if anyone can tell me if these are pullets? I can take better pics if neccesary but they would not stop moving. #1 is a little more bold and has tiny bumps on the comb. #2 is a lttle smaller both seem like there is more dark in the feathers than the roo when he was young but I am not sure. Both comb areas are still yellow. Just don't want to fall in love again if I have to give another up

I think it may be to early to tell (for me anyhow), but maybe someone else could tell you.

And easy way to tell if your BR's are male or female are the black coloring. Males usually have brighter yellow legs and their black barring is usually lighter than the females (sometimes gray).

I think they're a bit to early also.

Too early. Much easier to tell at 5 weeks. At 5 weeks, the cockerels typically are brighter, with more brilliant white bars on more of a grey background, while typically, the pullets are darker black with far less noticeable barring.

Also at 5 weeks, the little cockerels will begin to sprout red combs (pullets stay yellow) and little red wattles begin to show themselves. Like these two, side by side.
