Barred Rock different from rest

Both are pullets. Some are lighter than others. The first is colored light like my Lexie was-she was mistaken for a cockerel for months. Most are darker like your second one, though.

Thank-you all for your assurance that my chicken Matilda is truly a puttet! You were right! And today, she delivered, her first egg that is! I knew it was going to be real soon when she kept pacing around the yard with a continual little cluck, and jumping in and out of the coop.

Soon, she settled into the nesting box, and left the sweetest little egg!

Isn't it just so cute!?
